Umbrella Companies Consultation: Employment Rights & Tax Compliance

The Government has launched a new consultation in relation to umbrella companies, with the objective of ensuring that they are better defined, provide those working for them with employment rights, and that they are compliant with tax rules. The consultation follows on from publication by the Government of it's formal response to a 2021 call for evidence, in which it sought feedback on umbrella company use and ways of avoiding abuse of them within the market
