Report Finds AI Could Considerably Reduce Time Spent On Admin By Public Sector Workers

A report commissioned by Microsoft and compiled by Dr. Chris Brauer of Goldsmiths University has found that AI could save each public sector worker over four hours per week on average that is currently spent upon admin tasks, totaling 23 million hours per week across 5.93 million public sector employees. Doctors, nurses, teachers, and police officers would benefit significantly. The report also found that 45% of public sector workers feel overwhelmed by unnecessary admin tasks, which in turn has a highly detrimental impact upon their mental health and job satisfaction.
