Number Of Vacancies In The Economy Falls Again

The Office For National Statistics (ONS) recently reported that the number of vacancies in the economy fell to 949,000 in the 3 months to November 2023. This is down 40,000 compared to the 3 months to August 2023, and by 369,000 from the record peak of 1,318,000 reached in the 3 months to February 2022. This downward trend in terms of the number of vacancies has just been backed up by the new KPMG / REC jobs report, which found that both "permanent placements and temp billings declined again in December."
