Domestic workers residing in their employer's family home and treated as family members are currently exempt from the national minimum wage. This exemption will be removed by the Regulations (which are currently before Parliament) through the repealing of Regulation 57(3) of the National Minimum Wage Regulations 2015 (SI 2015/621). It is anticipated that the change will take effect on the 1st April 2024.
