Day-One Unfair Dismissal Rights Voted Down By House Of Lords

The House of Lords has amended the Employment Rights Bill by removing the proposed day-one unfair dismissal rights, and opting instead to reduce the current 2 year qualifying period to 6 months.

The House of Lords voted by 304 votes to 160 in favour of the amendment.

The House of Lords amendment could still be overturned when the Bill returns to the House of Commons.
