New National Minimum Wage Rates Apply From The 1st October 2016

From the 1st October 2016, the rates for the National Minimum Wage will go up as follows:-

  • For workers aged 21-24 inclusive, the rate will increase from £6.70 to £6.95 per hour
  • For workers aged 18-20 inclusive, the rate will increase from £5.30 to £5.55 per hour
  • For workers aged 16-17 inclusive, the rate will increase from £3.87 to £4.00 per hour
  • The apprentice rate will increase from £3.30 to £3.40 per hour.

The rate of the National Living Wage for those aged 25 and over will remain unchanged at £7.20 per hour. It is scheduled to increase in April 2017.
