Menopause In The Workplace: EHRC Issues New Guide For Employers

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has issued new guidance for employers to provide clarity in terms of what their legal responsibilities are towards employees experiencing menopause. A video provided by the EHRC outlining the guidance states: "The costs of failing to make workplace adjustments for staff can run into hundreds of thousands of pounds when taking into account the loss of talent and costs of defending a claim." Research by the Fawcett Society found that "One in ten women who worked during the menopause have left a job due to their symptoms."
