As we highlighted in an article back in February this year, one year on from the completion of the UK’s 6 month four-day working week trial research conducted by Autonomy found that the trial had been a success. Of the 61 employers that had taken part in the trial, 54 of them (89%) were still operating a four-day working week, with 31 (51%) having made the policy permanent.
Now, on the back of this success, a second pilot has been scheduled to begin in November 2024.
The director of the 4 Day Week Campaign, Joe Ryle, said of the second pilot: "With a new Labour government, change is in the air and we hope to see employers embracing this change by signing up to our pilot."
