The National Minimum Wage was introduced under the National Minimum Wage Act 1998. The level was increased again on the 1st October 2007.

  • The adult rate (for workers aged 22 and over) increased from £5.35 per hour to £5.52 per hour.
     

  • The development rate for workers aged 18-21 inclusive increased from £4.45 per hour to £4.60 per hour
     

  • The development rate for 16-17 year olds inclusive increased from £3.30 an hour to £3.60 an hour
